The month of April has been designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in the United States. The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence.
This year, in 2016, we are focused on helping the public learn more about what we do. During April, Rape Response Services will be using a facebook campaign of daily posts on the RRS facebook page. The posts are designed to educate the public on what it means to be an advocate, the intervention and prevention services we offer, and our many special projects. Other posts will include staff biographies and news of interest. This is also the start to a year-long marketing campaign being developed by the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault to help inform the public about what advocacy is and the depth and breadth of the services centers offer. So please look to your right and click on the facebook button. Become our friend on facebook!
