Community & Professional Education

All of our presentations are free of charge. Our educators work to engage the audience as much as possible by making our presentations interactive and discussion based. To request a presentation, please call 1-800-310-0000 or email rrsinfo@penquis.org. All presentations can be modified to fit into your schedule. Presentation title and a brief description are provided below:

RRS 101: “Who and what is Rape Response Services?” is the topic of this 1-hour presentation. Learn about our mission, values, and the work being done for victim/survivors of sexual violence and the work being done in primary prevention. Learn about our services, projects, and community collaborations.

SART Trainings: Our Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) Advocate is available to provide professional training programs to municipalities, first-responders, civic groups, social service providers, health care providers and other professionals to assist in building their capacity to respond to victim/survivors of sexual violence. We are available for in-service trainings, to speak at staff meetings, or other events determined by the organization.

RRS Intro to Volunteerism: In this 4 hour training, participants learn about Rape Response Services, the issues surround sexual violence, and the importance of helping victim/survivors. Learn about what it means to be a Rape Response Services Volunteer. This 4 hour intro to volunteerism training can be counted toward the 40 hour Volunteer Training listed below.

RRS Volunteer Advocate Training: This is a 40 hour training based on statewide training standards for community members interested in becoming a volunteer. Volunteer Advocates assist with Medical Accompaniments, Tabling Events, Community & Awareness Events such as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and our Annual Fall Auction.
