Our work would not be possible without the help of volunteers. Volunteer advocates assist with medical accompaniments (going to the hospital with survivors), tabling events, community and awareness events such as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. If you'd like to become a Rape Response Services volunteer, please contact us!

Support Survivors

There are many ways we can help create a culture that supports survivors:
Believe survivors and learn how to best respond in the moment when someone tells you they have been assaulted.
Learn the facts about sexual violence and help others learn by posting facts on social media or talking about them.
Invite someone from Rape Response Services to give a presentation in your workplace, community group or school. Check out our programs here.
Know about your workplace - or school - policies about sexual harassment so you can help if someone tells you they are being harassed. It's a great way to help!
Attend events sponsored by Rape Response Services, especially in April! Contact us to see when our next event will be.
Know how to connect someone to us or another resource in your community if they need help.
Follow us on Facebook and share our posts!
On our prevention page, we also talk about how to prevent sexual violence. Check it out!

Multidisciplinary Teams and Community Partners

Another way to support survivors and to bring awareness about sexual violence and it's impacts on your community is to join a local multidisciplinary team (MDT).  Multidisciplinary teams are a diverse group of community partners who come together to learn about the resources and supports available to communities to support survivors of sexual violence.  It is a place that partners can learn more through training and collaboration.  Often times MDTs also work on community awareness projects or identify specific needs and ways to address them related to their community.  If you would like to know more about the MDTs in your community and how to join one, contact us.
